* What is a DENIER?
The DENIER is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the yarn from which stockings and tights are made.
The lower the denier number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the thinner and more transparent the stocking or panties. Conversely, the higher the number (40, 70, etc.), the thicker the stocking and the less skin is visible.
On the other hand, there are tights and opaque microfiber pantyhose, in 50 and 100 denier, in which the skin is barely visible. They are commonly used in autumn and winter.
Tights and pantyhose with a low DEN rating are typically used for spring and summer. The rest can be worn year-round, for example, for formal occasions, as the sheerness of the stockings makes them more elegant.
